Creating a New Equipment Type

User Defined Fields when Creating a New Equipment Type will provide more detail for a User when creating a new piece of General Equipment.

  1. Log into the Salute Portal
  2. Locate the “Management” section on the right side of the Salute Portal pageScreen Shot 2022-08-11 at 10.54.30 AM
    1. There will be the following selections for the User to choose from:
      1. Tasks
      2. Requests
      3. Metrics
      4. Training
      5. Administration
      6. Documents
  3. Select "Administration"

  5. Locate “+ New Equipment Type” in the top right corner of the screen and selectScreen Shot 2022-08-11 at 10.56.22 AM
  6. Locate and populate the “Overview” section in the middle of the page
    1. Here you will find the following fields to fill out:

      1. Equipment Type Name*
      2. EHS Inspection Frequency (Days)*
      3. External Inspection Frequency (Days)
        1. Fields marked with a red asterisk will be required in order to Save the New Equipment Type form

  7. Locate “Equipment Type Detail” at the bottom of the page
  8. Locate “+ Add Field” in the top right corner of the section and selectScreen Shot 2022-08-11 at 11.04.54 AM
    1. An “Equipment Type Detail Field” pop-up window will generateScreen Shot 2022-08-11 at 11.08.24 AM
  9. Fill out the “Equipment Type Field” pop-up
    1. Here, there will be the following fields for the Users to fill out
      1. Type*
      2. Name*
      3. Placeholder
      4. Tooltip
        1. Fields marked with a red asterisk will be required in order to Save the "Equipment Type Field" information 
  10. Select the dropdown arrow at the end of the “Type” row and select a choice
    1. The dropdown will have the following options: 

      1. Text
      2. Date
      3. Date and Time
      4. Time
      5.  Numerical 
      6. Selector

  11. Select into the “Name” row
    1. Enter the field name of choice
  12. Select into the “Placeholder” row and type what you would like the Type Field to be *optional* 
  13. Select into the “Tooltip” row and type what you would like the Type Field to be, this is used to aid the End User *optional*
  14. Locate “Save” in the bottom right corner of the pop-up and selectScreen Shot 2022-08-11 at 11.13.28 AM
    1. Your “Equipment Field type” is now saved
